Writings

I wrote my first poem at the age of sixteen – prompted perhaps by the death of two close relations – bleak in its outlook but still soothing in the making as is often the case with any catharsis which is also to any degree aesthetic. After a period of two years, some emotional upheavels again made me write poetry inspired to a great extent by Ghani Khan and Roger Waters. It was years later that I intensively studied philosophy, literature, religions, poetry and prosody, and was pleasantly surprised to see how it formalized my preexisting lyrical propensity. Then began a cycle of poems, and I have kept seven of them – a sonnet, a shorter poem and five quatrains. I wrote little after this till quite recently but most of what I did write I also felt was worth keeping – another eighteen poems. I was flooded with inspiration after a long hiatus last winter and have been continuing to write what I hope to publish as a poem collection. I also wrote a novella of ideas in 1999 and have uploaded it to this site, along with a few poems and two essays.
